enriching communities

We’ve committed to reinvest $1M every year into existing and new regional development programs that benefit the communities we operate in.

what we’ve achieved

The Alfred Hospital is the local hospital that serves our regional Victoria communities and our farmers. Since 2016, Bulla has donated an average of $200k per year to support funding for critical care- a key component being the helicopters that service rural Victoria. We know these services are a lifeline to our community and we will continue to support the Alfred Hospital, and the vital healthcare services it offers.

For a second year running, Bulla proudly partnered with Coles and SecondBite to launch the ‘Three Million Meals’ campaign, aiming to raise money for SecondBite to support its rescue mission and the redistribution of surplus edible food. This year we raised $617,000, doubling our impact from last year which will help provide the equivalent of 3 million meals to Australians in need. You can find out more here.

Our Volunteering Policy offers one day of paid volunteer leave per calendar year to permanent full time and part time team members to participate in Bulla approved community support programs such as Foodbank, Backpacks 4 Kids, Clean Up Australia Day, and the Geelong Relief Centre.

During FY23, we volunteered a total of 216 hours at:

Foodbank Farm to Family days – where we helped pick and pack food orders to go to the tables of vulnerable families across Victoria.

Backpacks 4 Kids – where we donated Christmas presents and our team helped fill 196 Santa sacks for children in foster care in southwest Victoria.

what’s next

In 2024, we will be launching our formalised Corporate Giving Program. This will ensure our efforts in our community better reflect our values and consistently supports aspects most aligned to our goals, such as communities affected by food insecurity and environmental conservation and waste clean ups. In 2024, we aim to provide at least 340 hours of volunteer time and keep building this amount year on year.

producing safe, quality food

At Bulla, food safety and quality is paramount and has been integral to our approach in producing great Australian dairy products for over 100 years. We will continue to apply best practice food safety and quality standards.
